I’m Dr Nick Bearman and deliver GIS training sessions and GIS consultancy for a variety of clients, primarily focused in the academic and not for profit sectors. I help people make use of GIS to answer their research questions, and get more answers from the data they already have.
I think GIS is a great way to explore and communicate your data, and I have a range of training courses, training materials, and books to help people do this. I also offer consultancy services to help you.

Experience
I am currently working freelance, and I have previous experience of working for a number of UK universities, including UCL, Liverpool and Exeter. I completed my PhD at University of East Anglia in 2011.
I am a passionate supporter of Open Source software and am Chair of OSGeo:UK, the UK Local Chapter of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation.
I am a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a Chartered Geographer (GIS) and a Fellow of Advanced HE (previously Higher Education Academy), with a range of teaching experience including undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing professional development.
